Welcome to October Frights, featuring Halloween Fables by Winnie Jean Howard and poetry by C. Reschke.
Vampire
The gruesome seductive grin
draws me close
As blood drips from your chin.
Pretense flowing from pointed teeth
Death, cold, darkness
Eternal grief?
Longing for love, light, the sun?
Humanity, a soul…
But immortality has just begun.

A terrific poem.
Thank you!
Excellent poem! MAn, if these stories don’t get anyone in the right spirit (snicker) I don’t know what will. Happy to find your little corner of the internet beyond FB. 🙂
Thank you, this was one of my favorites to write.
