TV Review: The Exorcist

theexorcistThis week I’m providing my 2 cents about the new TV series for, The Exorcist. Here’s what it’s about:

“Angela, is plagued by increasingly frightening nightmares, her husband is slowly losing his mind, her older daughter spends her time locked in her room and her younger daughter hears strange noises from inside the walls. Two priests are brought together, as all their fates become entangled in a battle against an ancient force of evil.”

First off, I’m glad to see people are enjoying the show and it has a high rating. The dark atmosphere is right on. I find it chilling, especially because of the characters. Shout out to Hannah Kasulka who plays Casey. From the start she has that good girl look, and is so very convincing as her demon takes over.

I’m disappointed that Angela is Regan, the twist over the last few episodes. I suppose it had to happen, and Gina Davis is playing the character well. The storyline was similar yet refreshing until now. Then again, viewers wouldn’t have been so drawn in if they’d turned it more remake from the beginning.

I love the priests, especially Father Marcus. He’s just the sort of worn out priest you’d expect to have specialized in exorcisms. Actually, I could go on and on about all the things I love about the characters.

I’m really looking forward to future episodes. This is one to binge watch before bedtime if you dare.

My Rating: 4 out of 5
