Back on EdMo

After 4 days off of doing about nothing this week, I’ve been back editing the last few days.  Am up to 19 hours, a few hours further than the challenge suggestion of 16.5.  What did I do during my 4 days off, in between naps?  Comedy therapy via Trailer Park Boys. I’m a little embarrassed to say I’ve sat through a little over 3 seasons since last Friday. But, hey, laughter is the best medicine, … Read more

Bad Start to a Challenge

What a difference between NaNoEdMo and NaNoWriMo. There are so few participants, you can hear crickets over on the EdMo website. That and the site has been attacked by a spammer, which seems to be keeping people away. There’s no leadership and no one communicating to the group except for a few posts by the editing support staff. Still, I’m set on completing the challenge. I’ve even started some discussions in the Horror & Thriller … Read more

How to Join the Tour All About Writers & Books I really enjoyed this interview with Pamela Samuels Young over at Book Junkie, especially when she talks about trying to get people to critique her first novel. New Way of Book Reviewing was good for a chuckle. It’s one student’s comparison of ‘Titanic’ and ‘My Life’ by Bill Clinton. Where have I been hiding? I’m wondering because I’ve run into quite a few book reviews … Read more

Monday’s Whine: A Woman and a Writer

Sorry for posting so late today. I’ve gotten too involved, preparing for next week’s post on organizing. Oops! Maybe I should have done that this week. Just as a reminder, I’ve decided to use Monday as a whining day, but in a more constructive way. Basically, last week I posted, Started 2010 with My Head Spinning, and whined that I just can’t seem to “get with it” this year. As a way to help myself, … Read more

Writer Wednesday Blog Tour

Nicole Hadaway, a fellow author and friend has been devoting her blog posts on Wednesday to other authors. I commend her for this and would like to offer up my blog as a link for hers and other authors and readers doing similar posts. Going forward, each Wednesday, I will include a post with links to blogs discussing books and authors in the same genres I write. So that’s Horror, Fantasy, Paranormal, Sci-Fi and Comedy…a … Read more

Innsmouth Free Press

I found the Innsmouth Free Press website on Twitter last week. I just finished reading through their website, and I’m pretty excited to see the website launch on June 1st of this year. Innsmouth Free Press is a fictional newspaper publishing faux news as well as original short fiction stories. We also feature some of Lovecraft’s classic tales. Love the Monster Bytes! I’m planning on submitting a few myself. admin

Book Review: On Writing, by Stephen King

Again…I’ll say it. Stephen King…love his work or hate it. This time around, I LOVE IT!! I have been incredibly inspired by this book. King has given me a new outlook on completing Purloin, a novel of mine that I’ve been working on for five, yes 5, years. I guess five years isn’t so bad. Better than saying life long work. Anyways, On Writing reminded me that writing can be easy. Hell, I did it … Read more
