Movie Review: Inferno

infernoI went to see Inferno in the theater Sunday and decided to review it this week. Here’s what it’s about.

When Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Dr. Sienna Brooks, and together they must race across Europe against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.

First I have to say that I don’t like Dan Brown’s books. I never finished The DaVinci Code and never tried to read any of his other books. But I do love the movies, and I was entertained through this one as I was the others. It held my attention the whole way.

I think Ron Howard did a good job with his version of the book, even though I haven’t read it. I liked that I didn’t trust anyone while I watched and kept guessing who might be the true threat. I also liked how this story started, with Robert Langdon having amnesia. As a viewer, I was as confused as the main character, which added to the suspense.

I’ll grade Tom Hanks as consistent with his role in each of the movies. He was quite beat up in this one, so I’ll also grade him high on being a good sport. There was also a hint of a love story going on that worked. I wish they would have taken it further.

My favorite parts were solving the puzzles, as always. This one’s focus on Dante’s Inferno a huge plus. I say watch and enjoy and don’t compare it to the book.

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Hellish Flames

Please leave zombie movie suggestions in the comments.
I prefer movies rated below a 4 on IMDB.

    • These movies are some of my favorites to re-watch on TV on a Saturday afternoon with a hangover. LOL! Really glad there are now 3 for the hangover marathon.
