Movie Review: Germ

MV5BMTg2OTI4NzA3NF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNjMyNzA3Ng@@._V1_SY317_CR11,0,214,317_AL_Last week I bashed a zombie film everyone loves; this week I defend one everyone seems to hate. I enjoyed Germ (aka Germ Z) so much that it’s been added to my ‘best of list’ to the right. Anyway, here’s what it’s about:

“The military’s attempt to shoot down an orbiting satellite unleashes a space-borne epidemic on a remote, small town.”

Pretty lame description for the movie, huh? And not a very original plot. What the description doesn’t mention is that these are more rage zombies, like in 28 Days Later. These zombies legibly mumble and laugh—it’s a very creepy laugh.

This is a GOOD movie for a low-budget zombie film, although it starts slow. We zombie movie freaks don’t have patience, but stick with this one. Warning…this movie is not a gore fest, but the action is worth the watch.

One other thing I’ll mention is that the acting was GOOD for a B horror movie, despite what other reviewers are saying. I liked the main characters. I cared about their lives and cheered to the end for someone to live, hee hee. I specifically want to mention Michael Flores, who played Max the cop and his girlfriend, Marguerite Sundberg, who played Brooke. Their parts stand out the most and they kicked ass!

My Rating: 4 out of 5 Bloody Brains

Please leave zombie movie suggestions in the comments. Movies must be rated below a 4 on IMDB.

    • That’ll start in Dallas. Sounds like we’ll have to extend that wall around the state of Texas, LOL!

Last night I watched 2 TV shows about viral outbreaks. No chance the media’s trying to create widespread panic. 😉
