Today’s Thanksgiving book review is Turkey Surprise by Peggy Archer. Here’s what it’s about:
It’s thanksgiving and two pilgrim brothers are hunting for a turkey to cook and gobble up for dinner. After all, the thanksgiving meal always means turkey. Doesn’t it? No matter what Father and brother say, the little pilgrim is not so sure. Can he convince his older brother that a stuffed turkey doesn’t have to be the centerpiece of their dinner? Meanwhile, the turkey is doing his hilarious best to escape becoming the main course!
This is a fun book, following around a turkey trying to hide from the pilgrims who want him for their Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey gets in trouble in each hiding place, adding to the fun. I don’t want to tell you anymore of the story, but I will say that Thor Wickstrom did an excellent job on the illustrations.
