Book Review: Madeline’s Christmas by Ludwig Bemelmans

Today’s holiday book review is Madeline’s Christmas by Ludwig Bemelmans. Here’s what it’s about:

Children can celebrate a Parisian Christmas with Madeline, Pepito and all their friends.

Not much of a description. In this Madeline tale she meets a magician and buys rugs for everyone. The rugs become magical and get all the girls home for Christmas.

This tale is rated high, but I didn’t care for it as much. Some of the sentences were awkward and I’m not a fan of the illustrations in the Madeline books. So this review is more personal for me. If you like Madeline, I think you’ll love this book as much as everyone else.

My Grade: C-
